The Squads

The squads that make up NATO are loosely based by geographical region. This serves two purposes; first if all squad members live in the neighboring time zones there is a greater chance that teammates will be online around the same time. Secondly, between all the squads, NATO has a near constant presence on the server. The squad compositions are as follows:

Root Squad: The root squad is kind of a catch all for time zones, but if you see Jarhead34 or Drgipe on a lot when you play, then you may be suited for the root squad. Jarhead is in the UK and Drgipe is in the USA so there is a good chance of catching one of them on throughout the day. To apply for this squad see jarhead34.

M1dway Squad: To apply for this squad see M1dnight.

Mardet Squad: To apply for this squad see devildog8.

58th Squadron: The 58th squadron is based upon three main segments, Battleships, Carriers, and Anti-Aircraft ships, but with that said, 58th is not biased to just these areas we have open slots for any kind of player with the right attitude. The main purpose of this squad is to enforce BB and CV Co-ordination in battle, and to have fun, To apply for this squad see rayze.

CV Battle Group (CV BG): Primarily aimed at players that have a CV as there main fighting vessel, with a secondary line available to act as support (ie. AA- support, CA/CL close support for CV's and BB's, DD and FF Scouts, torpedo boats etc.) incase needed for any other support that the fleet may require. The CV Battle Group has been set up to provide superior air cover, close air support, close AA support and co-coordinated bombing runs on specified targets. To apply for this squad see Wags.

If you are not sure which squad would be best for you or if NATO is a the right fleet for you, please speak to any of the players listed above. They will help determine if you and NATO are a good match and which squad would be the most appropriate.

No squad has any "buy in" requirement and we are open to all levels, nations, and ship classes. We run our own teamspeak server and ask that all members have teamspeak available. While it is not required for normal playing it is vitally important for competitive matches for rapid communication and just generally makes the game more fun being able to talk with folks you're playing with.

If you'd like to join NATO, then please follow the instructions on the how to join page and we will contact you. Once signed up to the fleet you can access our forum using the link below. Please note that you will have to register to post and where possible you should register with your in-game id.
