Since you found your way here, I'll
assume you have some interest in finding out more about Arizona's NATO
Fleet.
NATO Fleet was founded November 2005 on what was then the Prince of
Wales (PoW) server. It was initially formed from many of the Bismark
(now Arizona) server transfers and combined players from the old 7th
U.S., UAF, and WAVE Fleets. The original fleet founders were
whitesuit24, scotty80, wodur, and will107.
Since its inception, the fleet has gone through many changes, including
many squad changes. The fleet continues to adapt and survive. The fleet
is currently commanded by Jarhead34 with the deputy commander being NZrogue.
The squads that make up NATO are loosely based by geographical region.
This serves two purposes; first if all squad members live in the
neighboring time zones there is a greater chance that teammates will be
online around the same time. Secondly, between all the squads, NATO has
a near constant presence on the server. The squad compositions are as
follows:
NATO root squad: The root squad is kind of a catch all for time zones,
but if you see Jarhead34 or NZrogue on a lot when you play, then you may be
suited for the root squad. Jarhead is in the UK and NZrogue is in
New Zealand so there is a good chance of catching one of them on
throughout the day.
PACFLT: Primarily composed of Western North America and Pacific Rim
players, with a preference to players over 30 years old. To apply for
this squad see granty.
NRF: The tactical arm of NATO, this squad is more focused on the
competitive aspects of the game. Members of squad are expected to train
in tactics and coordination on a more regular basis. To apply for this
squad see Drgipe or asssasinn.
CoD: To apply for this squad see
Pr0tiny or M1dnight.
U.S.N.S.F. (USN Strikeforce)
Primarily focused on recruiting members from the North American Region.
If you are interested in joining, please apply to UFsidewinder
or Drew031
CV Battle Group (CV BG) Primarily
aimed at players that have a CV as there main fighting vessel, with a
secondary line available to act as support (ie. AA- support, CA/CL close
support for CV's and BB's, DD and FF Scouts, torpedo boats etc.) incase
needed for any other support that the fleet may require. The CV Battle
Group has been set up to provide superior air cover, close air support,
close AA support and co-coordinated bombing runs on specified targets.
To apply for this squad see Deter or Abs0lut3zro.
If you are not sure which squad would be best for you or if NATO is a
the right fleet for you, please speak to any of the players listed
above. They will help determine if you and NATO are a good match and
which squad would be the most appropriate.
Fleet Vision: Our main goal is to have a fleet made of mature and
respectful players that want to get together to enjoy the game. Although
we are a fairly large fleet, our focus is more on the having quality
members than it is on being the biggest and most competitive. NATO
should be a group you feel good hanging out with after a hard day at
work or school. We will not tolerate cheating, exploitations, arranged
battles (ABs) in which the outcomes are predetermined, nor chronic AFK
leeching or hosting.
No squad has any "buy in" requirement and we are open to all levels,
nations, and ship classes. We run our own teamspeak server and ask that
all members have teamspeak available. While it is not required for
normal playing it is vitally important for competitive matches for rapid
communication and just generally makes the game more fun being able to
talk with folks you're playing with.
If you'd like to join NATO, then please follow the instructions
below and we will contact you. Once signed up to the fleet you can
access our forum using the link below. Please note that you will have to
register to post and where possible you should register with your
in-game id.
Thanks for your interest in NATO, Navy Field's finest fleet.
